ICE was started in 1998 by Neil Selwood and Chris Parker who both, for a long time, had a passion for recumbent bikes and trikes and took the opportunity to acquire the rights to the original trike design and further develop the product.
The business has grown substantially from those early days, we’re always been driven by the same ideal: To design, develop and produce the ultimate recumbents and support our owners with excellent customer service.
Ben spends his time between product development and marketing. A keen trike rider of many years, Ben has done many miles of product development and testing. Ben currently rides an ICE Vortex 20 to work on most days as well as doing many product development miles. Ben has also been on the British Human Power Club (BHPC) Multitrack series on an ICE trike.
Ben recently joined ICE to develop the sales and marketing business areas, having previously done a variety of sales and marketing roles within large automotive manufacturers. Ben rides an ICE Vortex and loves fast descents and long weekend rides. Ben is also a keen mountain biker and enjoys reading and chilling in front of a log fire at the end of a long ride. Ben built his first recumbent (with Chris’s guidance) back in 1995.
Chris is the design mind behind many of the ICE products, having a long-term passion for recumbent bikes and trikes. Chris has designed and made many recumbent trikes and currently rides an ICE Sprint.
Dan leads a team who assemble ICE trikes, ensuring our reputation for high quality is continued. Dan also supports our marketing plans and is behind many of the images on this site!
Darren is our fixer – ready and on hand to solve whichever problem is challenging you – he’s also a dab hand with shifting pallets around.
Hero does a huge variety of jobs from checking Ben’s copy for errors to bookkeeping to keeping all of us boys in line – if we’re good she sometimes brings bread pudding into work.
John is an ICE veteran of many years and processes most of the dealer orders as well as keeping our IT alive and healthy. John is originally from Canada and built his first recumbent bike back in 1980.
Neil looks after most of the operational business areas and handles many of the incoming orders. Neil regularly rides to work on an ICE B1 bike with an electric assist.
Phil manages despatch of ICE trikes from our premises in Cornwall as well as managing 1001 other day to day jobs! Phil can often be spotted heading out on a lunchtime ride on an ICE Adventure.
