Rider Positioning System
Overview
At
ICE we believe that good rides start with a bike which fits well. Our Rider
Positioning System (R.P.S) covers a combination of features which we've
developed to ensure the perfect rider fit.
Adjustable Boom and Seat
Angle Adjust
This starts with our adjustable boom which allows the boom to be extended or retracted to fit your leg length. Riders can then adjust the seat angle to one of 5 positions giving 10 degrees of movement, and can be done at the road side in seconds if desired.
Seat Types
The B1 comes as standard with our tubular aluminium seat with mesh
fabric cover giving excellent comfort and ventilation. The fabric is laced onto
the aluminium seat frame with adjustable straps. The seat angle is quickly
adjustable to 5 settings and can be done at the road side in seconds if
desired.
Short Arm Cranks
For shorter riders we can supply an upgrade front
chainset with 152mm cranks in place of the more standard 170mm. These cranks
come with alloy CNC machined 22/32/44 tooth chain rings on a 64/104 - 4 arm
spider. Short cranks give greatly improved comfort for shorter riders and are
recommended for those under approximately 5'4". They are essential for
riders under approximately 5'2" to give comfort and proper fit on the bike. Please see rider size page for more information.
Adjustable Steering Stem
ICE bikes come with a custom designed and highly adjustable light weight
handle bar stem which can be set for height and stop angle. The stem tilts
forward for easy access with an adjustable stop system and adjustable friction
damping system to control pivot stiffness. Careful cable routing
and pivot design allow the stem to be folded right down beside the front forks
when the B1 is folded for transport.
Two Handlebar Options
Two types of handlebars are available for the B1 allowing customization
to your preferred arm position.
Straight Bars
As standard the bikes come with straight bars giving a relaxed arm
position and good knee and lower leg during tight during tight manoeuvres.
These bars also result in a slightly more compact fold.
Wrap Around Bars
Wrap around bars give a straighter arm position and
a performance look and feel, during exceptionally tight turning wrap around
bars can sometimes restrict leg movement.
Bars can initially be changed from one type to the
other without changing cable lengths so experimentation to determine your personal
preference only requires one extra set of bars. In most cases a test ride with
us or at your dealer will quickly confirm your favourite setup.
Anodised Parts
Adjustable
parts such as the boom and the seat back rest clamp are hard anodised, helping
to prevent cosmetic wear under continuous use.
